LOGAN — A truck hauling cream took a curve at high speed and rolled on the shoulder of the road in Logan Canyon Wednesday afternoon, killing the driver.

Bruce Giddings, 60, of Logan, was traveling northbound in the tanker on U.S. 89 at about 1:30 p.m. It ran off the road between Ricks Spring and Tony Grove turnoff, the Utah Highway Patrol said in a prepared statement. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The cab was crushed and the driver was pinned," the UHP wrote.

Detectives believe Giddings was wearing a seat belt.
