I must compliment my Conservative brothers for their ability to not show
embarassement and holding the party line with the constant deluge of material
coming out of the White House. As one of the headlines recently said
"Utah Congressional Leaders Lockstep with the President"People are making fun of them by describing their actions as "Goose
Stepping with the President"There comes a point when they have
to differ with the President's statements. How are they going to do it?
Re: Worf"How can anyone do the presidential job with the
constant assault?"Ask Obama, he endured 8 years of constant
assault by you and others, as we readers of these threads have witnessed.IMO we are watching a 21st century Watergate!
The disrespect, and bitterness is shameful. How can anyone do the
presidential job with the constant assault? There would be no
national debt, or welfare state, and most all people in our country would be
prosperous, had we elected good honorable leadership in the past. We
haven't.And now the ignorance, and foolishness of our people
will lead to lost of freedom.
The Donald's "commencement speech" at the Coast Guard Academy was
an absolutely pathetic pile of whining mixed with self stroking of his massive
ego.It was disgusting, immature, and just plain dumb. I feel sorry
for the academy graduates who were short changed after all their hard work.
They deserved a graduation speaker who could deliver something of substance and
I hate say I told you so but people should have paid attention the day Trump
bragged that he could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and
still not lose any voters. It just sounded too crazy to be taken seriously,
right? Now it's coming back to haunt us.
Many Trump voters are slowly starting to realize that this man is not the most
comfortable bed fellow. Wrong! They knew it when they voted for him and they
knew when they had a hard time looking their daughters and grand daughters in
the eye. Now they are beginning to see what they gave up character, dignity and
even a large chunk of their soul for. It was to scream their anger out at
Washington. But they're starting to see that they should have chosen
someone who would scream for them and not for himself and his interests. You are not in his bubble of interest. He doesn't care about your
pain or your anger. He cares about himself--case closed. Didn't mom and pop
tell you about people like this?
I don't want him to be locked up, I want him to continue to be inept and
incompetent so he and the Republicans can not get his contract on America to go
anywhere. More popcorn!
"Look at the way I've been treated lately, especially by the media. No
politician in history...has been treated worse or more unfairly,"______________________________That was Donald Trump speaking to cadets
today at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy as reported by NBC News.
"I see your true colors shining through." LOL!
A lot of unflattering news is coming out about trump. I wish we had an honest
press corps; it’s difficult to tell how much is just their outright hatred
of trump and how much is something we should be concerned about.I
have to laugh at all the liberals crying “lock him up”. Their
silence when Comey refused to recommend indicting hilary gives them no room to
start chanting now. When holder refused to even investigate white voter
suppression in Philly, where was their outrage?
Yes low information people are a grave threat to America. They brand anything
they don't like as fake news. They believe easily disproved lies if they
are told by someone they support. They ignore easily proven scientific facts if
it does not fit their world view. Sad.
This is starting to unravel and build momentum which is how Watergate unfolded.
I wonder if Trump realizes how serious this is becoming for his Presidency. If
it were just Democrats blasting away, that is to be expected as normal
partisanship. But with support in his own party starting to erode, he had better
take this seriously.
It's not climate change! The media, and low information people
are the greatest threat to America.
@Harrison BergeronDo you really believe that Trump would have fired
Flynn if the Washington Post (aka "fake news") had not published the
article exposing Flynn's dishonesty? The fact that Trump ignored
compromising information delivered by Sally Yates and his continuing loyalty and
defense of Flynn indicate otherwise. Considering his record before, during, and
after the election, Trump is the one with the credibility problem, not the
@Harrison Bergeron -- Deep Throat was essentially anonymous, and his news, as we
now know it was Associate FBI Director Marc Felt, was not 'fake'.The Nixon Administration attempted to undermine the investigation, by
having the firing the special prosecutor fired. This only increased
the dedication to 'find the truth', and eventually Nixon resigned.Attempting to influence an investigation, is a crime regardless of the
results of an investigation.
Maybe it's time for his resignation, or failing that, impeachment. This is
not going well and it gets worse by the day.
SOS!The S S Trump hit an iceberg named Comey and is going down
fast, all the while the orchestra is on the tilting fantail playing "Nearer
my God To Thee", with a spattering of Trump Worshipers hanging on to the
rails shouting " it wasn't an iceberg it was the fake news".Time for the Republican congress to grow a spine, abandon the engineroom
and take to the life rafts.SOS!!
Harrison Bergeron said: "All of the statements rebutting the fake news are
by real people who are willing to put their names and reputations behind what
they say."That's great, you mean reputations like
Kelly's and Spicer, yeah that makes it true. Can't believe
people are still claiming not to smell the smoke?
@worf "IMO, if Trump is unjustly removed,- we'll never again be a
prosperous country, and poverty will be the norm. The perfect setting for a
dictatorship as seen in North Korea, and Cuba."But Trump will
not be "unjustly" removed. He is obstructing justice, like with Nixon.
Trump will soon be gone, ending the Trump nascent dictatorship.
@Jim Chee - "It's long past time to ask the crucial question, does
Donald Trump have the knowledge to do his job?"Mitch McConnell -
"It would be helpful to have less drama emanating from the White
House."While Trump is providing extensive self-induced drama to
consume the US, China is leading a major economic initiative involving nearly
all of Asia and much of Europe, putting $200 Billion into the effort. We're (literally) losing global economic and moral leadership with every
week Trump is in office.
The pictures of hugging the Russians from Russia is terrible. Is this
We need to hear more than mushy "be careful" pronouncements from our
Utah congressional members. Stop being so weak and partisan.
The media doesn't report news. They rule the country. Many of
our politicians, dependent citizens, and movie stars are their followers. For whatever reasons, the media can't control Trump, and he's
a threat to them. The evidence is in their bitter behavior. The sifting is on. Some can see it, and others can't.IMO, if
Trump is unjustly removed,- we'll never again be a prosperous country, and
poverty will be the norm. The perfect setting for a dictatorship as seen in
North Korea, and Cuba.
It's long past time to ask the crucial question, does Donald Trump have the
knowledge to do his job? Trump has often stated that he attended the Wharton
School of Management at the University of Pennsylvania, but he has never said
that the graduated. There are reports that he attended a few classes, yet there
is no proof that he was admitted to the school, much less took classes for
credit. Also there is no information that he ever graduated from a university
since he was going to inherit his father's company and didn't actually
need a university degree. This is all pertinent since he often
criticized Barack Obama who we know graduated from university and the Harvard
School of Law. In fact, it would be good to see the transcripts of Trump's
performance at the schools he may have attended because he actions as president
appear to suggest that his learning was limited.Perhaps this is the
reason he does such dumb stuff. He doesn't know any better. He fires the
head of the FBI because of a Trump-Russia investigation, and then goes and has a
meeting with two Russian officials, one a former KGB agent, and reveals
critical, confidential information.
"I hope you can let this go."This coming from the man who
made up a fake story about Obama being born in Kenya. The same man who had his
supporters chant "lock her up" at his rallies. The president who wants
to lock up journalists and censor the media. No, we won't let
this go. We will count the number of days Chaffetz, Hatch, Stewart, Lee, and
Love continue to be lackeys for this administration.
Comey is a calm matador in the face of Trump's blinding rage. After his firing, Comey drew Trump in, hinting at Congressional testimony,
only to deftly sidestep Trump's clumsy threat of tapes. Then Comey
gracefully withdrew, letting the picadores in Congress further agitate the
staggering brute, jabbing Trump with demands he turn the tapes over. Trump mistakenly sensing triumph in defying those demands, stubbornly charges
ahead. But in doing so presents Comey a perfect angle for the dramatic
finish.Ay!Comey delivers the final blow with old school
bureaucratic finesse...a contemporaneous memo shared in real time with a small
circle of trusted peers in the FBI! Ay! Admissible as evidence! Ole!So elegant it has drawn even Chaffetz to his feet. Why? Because unlike a 'tape' in the digItal era, a memo is the
perfect prop for the cameras. It can be read, while sternly peering over a pair
of tortoise-shell reading glasses to occasionally berate a witness. A memo can
be rolled, held, and shaken, in sequence or one step at a time.It
will even get a nickname! The February Fifteenth Memo. The Comey Memos.
What a throwback summer this will be!
Lock him up! We need to restore law and order in this country!Where
have all the trump supporters gone recently? Get Educated
"all of the fake news"If it repeats what I want to hear and
supports what I want to believe--evidence to the contrary--it's news. If it
upsets my little aple cart, it's fake news. Must be nice to
live in a place where denial actually makes one feel better.
How is Congress supposed to get much of anything done in this environment? The House and Senate Intel committees may want to get rolling on turning
up the evidence, because a special prosecutor will absolutely drag this into
next year. Pressure may build on Paul Ryan to start an impeachment by the
fall, to try and salvage Republican prospects for 2018. Republicans
are in a vice - alienate Trump supporters and have a chance of hanging on in
2018, or let this drag out, and get decimated in November 2018.Now
we're seeing why Sen Dianne Feinstein said that Trump may quit, "very
soon".... and we haven't even got into the Intel evidence, yet. These
have all been unforced errors by Trump. Somehow, Trump is
delusional enough to think people won't notice his ongoing tight
relationship with the Russians. He really thinks he'll get out of this.
Donald messed with the wrong guy when he fired Comey. The wheels are starting
to come off.
Lock him up. Someone has to get the chant going. This brazen
malfeasance, lying and corruption has to be given consequences. America deserves
better, and our system is designed to deal with this possibility. Time to make
I cannot wait to hear Trump bragging that he had more people indicted in his
administration then Reagan, and that his hearings gotten much higher ratings
than Watergate and Iran-Contra.
This story is actually pretty balanced considering it’s the AP. If you
notice all of the fake news is reported by anonymous sources. All of the
statements rebutting the fake news are by real people who are willing to put
their names and reputations behind what they say.
