Attention low information Trump enablers! How possibly could liberals act and carry out such the violence you claim? After all, liberals are "snowflakes". Which is it? Violent, anti-government protesters or "snowflakes"? Keep digging comrades! Thank you.

The hypocrisy of FOX news and their coverage of this topic has shocked me. I heard them today excusing working with Russia to influence an American election! That is mind blowing.

President Trump has done more controversial and unethical things in the first six months than Barack Obama did in the entire 8 years. But you watch FOX and they keep trying to positively spin the story.

I'm turning off FOX for good. Mainstream media may lean slightly left but at least they are trusted to report facts and not opinions spun as truth. FOX news is not good for our democracy.

The biggest whopper Obama uttered was 'If you like your health care plan, you can keep it'

    Trump and GOP:
"No one will lose coverage. There will be insurance for everybody. Healthcare will be a “lot less expensive” for everyone.

Trump promised: “We’re going to have insurance for everybody, there was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.”

    ‘No cuts to Medicaid’:
“I was the first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid”

    ‘No one will loose coverage'

‘Nobody will be worse off financially’
“I firmly believe that nobody will be worse off financially in the process that we’re going through.”

    ‘Get rid of artificial lines’
Trump talked about people buying health insurance across state lines.
"We have to get rid of the artificial lines around the states”.

‘Everybody's going to be taken care of’
“I am going to take care of everybody … Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.”
recently, Trump has promised that repeal will end with “a beautiful picture.”

...and they call Obama the liar?

The biggest whopper Obama uttered was 'If you like your health care plan, you can keep it' and I have to admit I was embarrassed for him, but Trump and his minions top that on a daily basis!

For some reason liberals are held to a higher level of accuracy in their public statements, and the conservative AM baloney factory masterfully conflates non events like Whitewater into major scandals.

The Code of Federal Regulations makes the law immunizing Trump Jr.’s actions precisely clear: any foreign national individual may volunteer personal services to a federal candidate or federal political committee without making a contribution. The law provides this volunteer “exemption” as long as the individual performing the service is not compensated by anyone on the campaign. See 11 CFR 100.74. For example, as the Federal Election Commission advises all, “an individual can provide volunteer services to a candidate or party without considering the value of those service a contribution to the candidate or party.” Section 30121 of Title 52 does not apply to voluntary activity or services. The thing “of value” must be actual money, or its transferable equivalent, not a volunteer of services or information.

I didn't want to do this, but does the name Timothy McVeigh ring a bell? If conservatives want to blame the violence of anarchists on liberals, then conservatives get to wear the actions of this small-government guy.

Please quantify the amount of property damage done by conservatives in, let's say, the last 20 years?

Please list the number of personal injuries inflicted by conservatives.

Remember that all the false reports that are consistently proven to be staged by liberals to give conservatives a bad name (churches burned, swastiskas on homes and public buildings, even injuries that were self inflicted) all need to be counted against liberals, not conservatives.

How much damage was done by Tea Partiers compared to Occupy Wall Street, Blakc Lives Matter, and green protesters at the pipeline and other venues.

Seriously, when you take all those things and aggregate them, isn't the ratio like a billion to one? In calculus terms, the damage inflicted by the left is approaching infinity while the damage inflicted by conservatives is approaching zero.

Last question: Without data (versus innuendo) to support your claims, why would you give such clear evidence or your political blindness?

What did the conservatives do when Barack won? Walked disappointingly back to their homes and kept living productive lives.
Many of them also joined in with the chorus led by someone who waged a campaign to discredit his presidency by stoking a conspiracy theory about where he was born. Or waged an all out war against any efforts he could put forward to govern or create legislation. They went nuts when the president was photographed with his feet on the desk; you can bet if there was a meeting with a hostile foreign government in an attempt to get information to sway the electorate we'd know what the text of articles of impeachment would contain by this point in President Obama's term.

Liberals like Chris Matthews and the kind would be wise to follow our example.

    July 13, 2017 8:47 a.m.

    @Common sense conservative

I got one for you: 2009. There was a spate of angry town halls that year regarding the then-proposed Affordable Care Act when the Tea Party really started going. During that time, Democrat representatives were shouted at, threatened, and resorted to using protective police escorts to leave those meetings with their constituents. Just like this year, but with party names switched, Democrats accused Republicans of staging the protests, and Republicans ignored the rhetoric that often veered into violence (if only usually blustery threats).

Is that a riot by your definition? I'm sure you'll rush to move the goalposts to reassure yourself that it isn't, but the overwhelmingly vast majority of liberals in the US don't engage in rioting either; you just project the actions of an insignificant minority of children and troublemakers onto the rest. It's similar to the way that some liberals ascribe the actions and beliefs of the execrable white nationalists who support Trump to the entire Republican party. It's unfair, inaccurate, and unhelpful in a reasoned conversation.

unrepentant progressive: "All the Trump defenders, and their use of the "Hillary did it too" or the left is more violent than the right (without proof)..."

The left is definitely more violent than the right. We can show hundreds of videos of riots, burning cars, broken windows, rocks being thrown, etc. at liberal "rallies". Something tells me that none of those things would be considered 'proof' by the majority of far-left liberals.

There really is no comparison between the actions of leftist groups like BLM or Wall Street Occupiers and those on the right like the Tea Party. Sure you can find some tiny group protest like the Bundys or some Michigan militia to point to, but certainly nothing of any size.

Can anyone name a single instance in U.S. history where conservatives rioted when things didn't go their way? Nope. Never. How about liberals? Ahhh yes, the list is quite long. That said, talk radio and Fox News would be up in arms 24/7 if this same news happened with the Clinton campaign. In fact, their "defense" of Trump in this case IS to deflect back to Clinton. And it's pathetic. Matthews hyperbole is way off, but the gist of his point is still accurate.

There's was a time when the left aka Dems. longed for Soviet interference in elections.

Lost in the drama surrounding Donald Trump’s ties to Russia is old evidence of Ted Kennedy’s alleged dealings with the Kremlin in the mid-1980s. You do know that Ted Kennedy conspired with the Soviets in 1984 to oust Ronald Reagan from the White House, right?
Dems been doing it for years now all of a sudden the thought of Trump and it is only a thought doing it has sent the left into an apoplectic fit.

Hillarys camp did in fact collude with Ukraine to beat Trump. Dems and Media? Crickets!

All the Trump defenders, and their use of the "Hillary did it too" or the left is more violent than the right (without proof), show us is the extent of the damage to the country that the President has done.

When it becomes okay for the President and his family to conspire with known Russian agents and their familiars, we have lost our country. And for good, I might argue. The President has offered us endless denials of any conspiracies, yet the drip, drip, drip of the falsity of these Presidential claims continues on.

Many of us on the left initially just could not believe that anyone would stoop so low as to engage with our global enemy, Russia, for the purposes of winning an election. Dislike Trump intensely, Yes. But believe him capable of such a monumental act, No. Kennedy and Gore in their pursuit of the Presidency were offered Russian aid to win. Both denied that help and reported it to the FBI. Not so with the Trump family cabal. Yet, here we are stuck with a President who has lied about this and other matters.

The US, and particularly the "flyover" section of the country are indeed in trouble. Defense of the President is unAmerican and unTruthful.

LDS Liberal: you speak of integrity. I have posted facts about the documented Hillary Clinton collusion with a foreign government to meddle in our election. Since you claim integrity, I eagerly await your calls to jail Hillary Clinton and John Podesta, among others, for collusion with a foreign government.

In case you missed it, I refer to the January story in Politico that laid out in great detail, naming names and times, when DNC and Hillary campaign consultant Alexandra Chalupa conspired to forge documents that had the effect of forcing Trump's campaign manager to resign. These forged documents were relentlessly pressed by the media and Clinton's campaign, only to be quietly dropped once their true forged nature had been revealed--and after they had done their dirty work.

Not content with just Ukrainian government meddling, the Clinton campaign also coordinated with an agent from Great Britain with the infamous "Dossier" that we all know was falsified. And the exact same "Russian Lawyer" that Trump Jr. is being blamed for meeting has sat at the table of the Obama State Department during Congressional Hearings. Why no jail for them?

Actually Chris Mathews it did happen with Hillary Clinton and it was covered up until Politico ran a recent story on it then the Wall Street Journal and YOU know it!! The fact that team Clinton met with Ukrainian goverment officials to coordinate things hurtful to the Trump campaign did in fact happen. This was not some nothing-burger meeting like Don Jr. -- this was a meeting with actual foreign government officals exchanging real intel to damage Donald Trump. Interesting that MSNBC and Chris Mathews covered that story up isn't it.

Just like liberals, we conservatives are more outraged when our political opponents do something wrong than when our political allies do them. But to suggest that we would behave like the left does when it does not get its own way, is going a bit too far. Having riots and setting things on fire is what liberals do, not conservatives.

Chris Matthews needs to take a good look in the mirror. If this 'scandal' had happened under another Clinton administration, he and the rest of the mainstream media would just ignore it just like they have all the other scandals for the past 8 years. He would not have given it a second thought, let alone devoted so many shows to it.

We must remember right-wingers like Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, Savage, Levin, Hewitt, even G. Gordon Liddy made hating the Clintons into a billion-dollar industry.

Of course people in the hinterlands would be wanting to march around with Hillary's head on a pitchfork if the situation were reversed. They would be gleeful in doing that even if Hillary didn't collude with any Russians.

Similarly, if Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, Savage, Levin, Hewitt, even G. Gordon Liddy spent the last 25 years advocating people wear flared, orange bellbottoms everyday to show their patriotism, we'd be seeing millions of people in orange bellbottoms. That's how propaganda works.

Well, let's examine this, Chris Matthews. What if Hillary Clinton was found to be conspiring with a foreign government to affect the election? Would we Republicans be setting fires in front of Federal buildings?

Fortunately, we can test this. Politico reported in January with names and dates that the Hillary Campaign had openly colluded with the government of Ukraine to falsify documents that resulted in Trump's campaign manager Monofort to resign. Ukraine has admitted they meddled in our election and worked hand in glove with the DNC and the Hillary camp to try to get her elected. This is fact. Alexandra Chalupa is the name of the go-to coordinator between Ukraine and the DNC and Hillary's campaign.

So, given that Hillary did in fact conspire and collude with foreign powers to sway the election, can anyone point out the fires and riots from Republicans? Anyone? Bueller? Incidentally, why isn't Hillary and Podesta in jail for doing this? Oh, wait: another example of the "Laws don't apply to Democrats" privilege.

Mr. Matthews- Places who believe the nonsense put out on the "fake news" networks are upset about Trump's alleged antics and "going crazy" as a result.

Had the "fake news" media not been totally in the tank for Obama and Clinton for the last eight years, perhaps there would have been justifiable outrage over their actions which many believe were not just unethical but illegal.
-- Obama's meddling in the Israeli elections has been nearly a top secret.
-- Clinton's cozy contributions from Russian interests to their "foundation" and outlandish $500,000 "speaking fee" to Bill, and subsequent sweetheart deal for U.S. uranium certainly stinks a lot more than anything (or everything) Trump is alleged to have done.
-- Even Republican McCain's involvement in bringing the bogus "Trump dossier" allegations out has been largely unreported.

The complicity of the news media in pushing the liberal agenda and misleading the American people is the greatest story never told, but will eventually surface in history books documenting the demise of American civilization.

Conservatives are very reluctant to engage in political violence, but not the other side.
