    Yes SoonerUte Utah has had success against the Y in recent years but as Chris B and other Ute Fans want to say on these boards, BYU is a subpar program not worthy to be on the field with their Utes. So that being said, the Utes have swooned in November and the offense has been lacking in crunch time. If you want to beat BYU in a low scoring game, I guess the status quo of recent offenses is wonderful but if the Utes want to go to the "next level", they probably ought to do better on this side of the ball.

    TJ - The real truth is; over the past 10 seasons, KW has a history of: 1. Hiring a new OC every year which is extremely difficult on QB's trying to learn and develop in a system. 2. Beating BYU with that new OC.

    The truth is, BYU does not have a new OC, but they have a new system. It will look great in fall camp, look great against Portland State, be exposed against LSU, and fail against Utah.

    The old adage that if you have 2 quarterbacks then you have none may apply here. My guess is that neither is ready with the new offense.

    Sooner,
    Feeling a little insecure? Did the jab at BYU make you feel better?
    Truth is; over the past 10 seasons, KW has a history of: 1. Hiring a new OC every year which is extremely difficult on QB's trying to learn and develop in a system. 2. Waiting too long to name a starting QB, which can mess with the mind of QB's, especially if one started the previous season and is presumed to be the starter this season. The whole "want to encourage a healthy competition to push the incumbent starter" is something KW seems to have a propensity to take too far.

    Sooner,

    As I'm sure you know that team which you shall not mention has 2 good backups with Hoge with a slight edge over Detmer, both have field time for the team that you can't say, and both are good QBs.

    My comment had nothing to do with another team, I'm a football fan rather than a rivalry obsessed troll, my comment is blunt but certainly not insulting.

    I'll stick to my opinion, I think Whit or Taylor simply needs to choose one guy.

    that being said, Whit is famous for not flashing his cards, high probability that there is a certain starter and he simply doesn't want to announce it - he's a smart coach, makes more sense than what the article explains.

    @london_josh:

    "New OC, new OL, new system, and no starter yet?

    Make a choice and get working on the chemistry."

    LOL! We'll make sure he gets this message so that he can start to coach correctly.

    SMH

    Go Utes!

    Still early in camp. I like seeing all 3 quarterbacks getting reps and experience.
    Down south has a problem with a new system dependent on one QB.
    What if the anointed one goes down? Dumb down the offense to fit the backups?

    @cjd1

    couldn't agree more! i like it though. there is no guarantee in the pac 12 that williams will go through the whole season. let huntley get some reps with the 1st team, so there is that familiarity with the receivers, line, etc.

    can we please just start these games!? the next 2 weeks is going to drag on!!!

    Everyone on the team knows that Troy is the starter. Just like other positions, they just want everyone playing hard for Fall camp.

    Whitt just needs to choose one. I think either Williams or Huntley will do great, but let the the one use these 2 1/2 weeks to develop and start getting comfortable.

    I fully expect him to chose Williams, though.
