Utah’s biggest win was at LES against BYU. They had incredible luck at Arizona getting a win so it cuts both ways. PAC 12 is really quite awful this year.

    ----------------

PAC-12 is the 3rd best league overall.

Utah's biggest wins in order were: #31 Arizona, #49 UCLA, #111 BYU.

Yes Utah had incredible luck at Arizona losing their starting QB and getting a win. Just like USC vs Utah, oh wait their starting QB wasn't injured.

Oh I'm never in a bad mood over sports. Just like to poke fun at those that are. I have nothing against Mangum, just those that propped him up on a lofty pedestal without him having accomplished anything at the college level and than skewered coaches that made decisions to play somebody who had. As it turns out they might have known more than the fans. Surprise, surprise.

    You appear to be neither.

    @Spokane ute

It could be worse, we could have lost to 8 games by a combined 240-90.

    ------------------------

that is worse, which is why you won't find me saying silly things like, "But hey, look on the bright side, at least we only lost to (fill in name here) by only (fill in amount here)!!

While sooo many ute fans in the pre-season were predicting a special season this year ("mark it down!!"), the world to be set on fire from TT's amazing offense, Huntley's greatness, touting the greatness of the latest JC RB (don't recall his name), DCII, the great OL never rebuilds it always reloads (same about the DL), their amazing secondary, etc etc despite experts like the oddsmakers at Vegas calling for a mediocre season (about like you're having now), it can't be ignored when a ute fan starts proclaiming moral victories in a season when so many ute fans have mocked BYU fans for trying to find any salve they can to sooth the suffering of a miserable year by proclaiming moral victories.

    Typical ute fan hypocrisy.

Utah and BYU have both faced adversity and fought valiantly. Utah lost tough games to USC and Stanford and likely be blown out by Washington this Saturday. Utah will likely defeat a completely awful Colorado team and be bowl eligible. Utah’s biggest win was at LES against BYU. They had incredible luck at Arizona getting a win so it cuts both ways. PAC 12 is really quite awful this year.

A couple of observations....one poster suggested that Utah perhaps isn't good enough to be in a P5 conference....never mind pointing out that the past 3 seasons Utah has been ranked in all 3 major polls (CFP, AP, and Coaches).....so that point is not valid. Obviously this suggestion is made because a BYU fan is still suggesting that BYU and Utah are on par with each other, which is ridiculous.....if we were the same, or even close, BYU would also be ranked, which they're not. Look at BYU's ranking the past 3 years if you need proof.

Now BYU fans are bragging about going to Hawaii, which is their surrogate bowl game? Hawaii has their share of victories over BYU, so are you suggesting that to go there or to "paradise" and end up losing the game that it counts as a "bowl game?" It's not a bowl game.....if nothing else it allowed you to have a cupcake game with Portland State, and then to watch you lose.....there's that word.....LOSE.....the next 7 games, including the 7th in a row to your arch-rival Utah. Point is, BYU fans have no room to diss the Utes. They should look in the mirror....and rise and pout.

I have to admit; that's pretty creative. A regular season game; where the two teams have combined for 6 wins, being better than a Bowl. Maybe the fan base can get Blue T Shirts made for the Hawaii game that says "our bowl game" on the front; and -6 (loss to Utah) on the back. It is true BYU is having a terrible season and yet, of all the games they lost this season, the one game that was still winnable up to the last possession was against who?

Yes, the might pac12 utes who, by reason of pac12 membership alone (not results) bring "superiority" to Utah sports over "mid majors". Half the pac12 teams this year are mid majors and don't know it, or won't admit it.

There is no question that for Ute fans this has been a hard year. The team has talent but has not been able to put it together for a complete game, turnovers and not playing all four quarters has been the big problems. The amazing thing is that we have done as well as we have given the problems and missed opportunities. This week will be the biggest challenge yet. The team will need to play all four quarters with the desire to win. No one is giving them much of a chance and rightfully so. Colorado will be the best hope for a win and a bowl game. It is always hard to come down to a last game where both schools will have a bowl game as the season defining achievement. One will get in and one will stay home.

Over the next two weeks Utah will have to prove to themselves as a team that they want that opportunity to play in a bowl game more than the other guy. I believe they can do. Do they?

It appears that the Utes can only be competitive in the PAC 10+2 when the opposing teams quarterback is injured and sitting on the bench. Perhaps Washington and Colorado's quarterbacks may catch the flu or get injured in practice so the Utes have a chance. But then again the Utes will have to quit giving the ball away.
