    "We on the left know Soros' projects. Many of them are worldwide efforts to benefit the lesser of us. In fact, he has already given away the bulk of his personal fortune to charity."

    Sorry if I'm less then impressed with your worship of the lizard man. Self serving leftists and their personal "charities", much like the clintons, always prove to be mostly self serving and payoff oriented in their power struggle schemes, not to mention promoting their agendas that have little to do with charity. Besides, the Koch's (and most rich persons) have their own charities, so it's not like soros has some corner on the do-gooder ideas.

    "From the rantings of people like Rush Limbaugh whose whole program is about feeding the fear of white America"

    Uhm? Do I detect a hint of racism in Mr. Conservative's rant and hostile rage against Limbaugh and his listeners and supporters, of which more then a few are non-white.

    From another article in the DN a regular very conservative poster said this yesterday...

    "The greatest threat to America is the media.

    They design and shape:

    * public opinion
    * moral values
    * styles and fads
    * nation wide morale
    * public temperament

    Individual thinkers are becoming rare."

    When conservatives start seeing a Free Press as the greatest threat to this nation, we are surely in dire times. While what he said is basically factual, we the people decide what media source one wants to listen to. From the rantings of people like Rush Limbaugh whose whole program is about feeding the fear of white America, to the rantings of MSNBC and its decidedly left bent, people have a choice.

    Any attempt at muzzling choice should send shock waves. The proposition of the alt-right is to ensure the absolute unlimited access to weapons to all, and the muzzling of the press, should be a warning to all - and should be something real conservatives reject. A free press does more to limit the powers of government - much more than some notion of an armed militia does.

    The founding fathers must be rolling in their graves with the idea of a free press being a threat to the union.

    HaHaHa

    We on the left know Soros' projects. Many of them are worldwide efforts to benefit the lesser of us. In fact, he has already given away the bulk of his personal fortune to charity.

    Now the Koch brothers, notorious in their schemes and plots, have financed innumerable conservative projects that will make the Kochs all the richer. Surely, you on the right know you are deeply indebted to their many political efforts.

    I will leave it to any common sensed person to determine which of these gentlemen stands on higher ground.

    Anybody who believes Project Veritas, I've got some Bigfoot Videos, that I'd like some investment in after some clever editing.

    Trump fans are unaware of what's real and fake because fox and talk radio have been conditioning them for years. My friends who are fans of those outlets are the most uninformed people I know, the loudest and proudest, uninformed I might add.

    They are easy to argue with, because they have no facts, just "I've heard" or "Their saying" Sad.

    A perfect example of the tactics of hypocrite fake news promoters, who apparently only see out of one eye. You can easily follow the same trail of money going from goergie boy soros, to all his loony leftwing causes. But with the hypocrites, only one side of the story is newsworthy.

    So you've swallowed that explanation? Then you'll believe about anything the MSM says. The issue you raised of the recordings being heavily edited had been proven to only shorten the videos

    "I am the way, the TRUTH and the light" ~ Jesus Christ
    The Prophet Joseph Smith taught that “Mormonism is truth."

    vs

    The Father or Lies,
    and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

    Tell me -- Donald Trump falls into which of those 2 categories?
    and if the later, how can any good Latter-Day Saint support and defend him??

    Wholly cow --

    Recently I re-read an epic talk by Pres. Uchtdorf entitled -- "What is Truth?"
    CES deviational - Jan. 13, 2013

    I exhort you to take 5 minutes and listen to it,
    and contemplate what Donald Trump is doing to our nation with is constant daily attacking of the Truth...

    "While Ms. Parker may dislike the political leanings of Project Veritas and all things related to Trump, and she may disagree with how the reporting was done, PV has been effective in exposing the hypocrisy and true agenda of the left."

    ACORN expose was a highly edited, largely bogus production. So was Planned Parenthood. You have a group of people who manufacture "news" to fit their agenda. You believe that manufactured "news". Mission accomplished, manufactured news originators.

    Truth has taken a big hit lately. Our president can't open his mouth or his cell phone without spewing untruth. By some counts, 6,000 times since he took office. And the GOP at large has been lying about economics for almost four decades (tax cuts pay for themselves and wealth will trickle down, for starters). What concerns me most is that so many of my LDS friends, who purport to treasure truth and honesty, fall for this nonsense out of sheer tribalism. GOP does not stand for God's Only Party. Pick your title, but lately I've liked Greedy Old Party.

    FAKE News ~ Donald Trump
    Lugenpresse (lying press) ~ Adolph Hitler

    no difference

    Although it dawned on me over the weekend.

    Trump isn't just fighting and attacking the "media",
    Trump is actually fighting and attacking the "Truth".

    and being LDS, that's a H-U-G-E red flag for me...

    @at long last. . . – “The MSM have been distorting and misrepresenting the facts and truth about the facts for at least decades.”

    Then you must be positively incensed by right-wing media.

    Granting everything you say about the MSM (for the sake of argument) it pales in comparison to the nakedly partisan propaganda machine created on the right.

    I believe the Right missed a golden opportunity back in the 90’s. They were not happy with some of the biases going on in the MSM, but rather than start a network that would challenge those biases and educate the public about the conservative point of view (which you can still find in some conservative print media) instead they went full tribal partisan where truth takes a back seat to win-at-all-costs.

    Joseph Goebbels would be proud…

    "Truth" has always been sort of tribal.

    For many years Ptolemy's idea of a flat earth was "true." Anyone who challenged it risked getting burned at the stake.

    Today, there are Fox News truths, Wall Street Journal truths, MSNBC truths, ad infinitum, all in conflict with each other.

    Joseph Smith said "Truth is knowledge of things as they are." Few of us have the humility to step outside our tribal truths and seek what the Prophet Joseph spoke of.

    The folks screaming loudest about bias in the “mainstream media” are the folks who are the first to believe what they read on Brietbart, Drudge, etc. and never dream of double-checking the claims they make.

    By attacking the profession of journalism, today’s far right is attacking the concept of truth itself, all to protect a worldview that simply isn’t supported by reality.

    Let's ask ourselves a couple of questions about journalistic integrity in light of Ms. Parker's putdown of Project Veritas (PV).

    1) How was ACORN exposed as the phony community service organization that it was? How many millions of dollars in federal funding did ACORN receive before the outrage that was sparked by being exposed as fraudulent by PV caused ACORN to fold?

    2) How was Planned Parenthood's trafficking in aborted baby fetus tissue and body parts exposed to the world? This business reaches well into the hundreds of millions of dollars and also receives significant funding from the federal government, not to mention the emotional and physical harm done to the women encouraged to go through with the abortions? Again, thank you PV!

    While Ms. Parker may dislike the political leanings of Project Veritas and all things related to Trump, and she may disagree with how the reporting was done, PV has been effective in exposing the hypocrisy and true agenda of the left. And the Washington Post has been all to eager to go along with the crowd. Agree with them or not, the Washington Post's lack of vetting the Moore accusers left the door wide open for Project Veritas.

    These are facts, which anybody can verify by looking at the online records of the IRS:

    Last year, Project Veritas received $1.7 million in donations from Donors Trust.

    In 2015 alone, Donors Trust received $5.2 million from "Knowledge and Progress Fund Inc.", a tax-exempt private foundation.

    For years, the chairman of Knowledge and Progress Fund has been...Charles Koch.

    ".... the reportorial staff, which adheres to basic journalism tenets, including, "park your bias at the door."

    Not so sure about that one Kathleen. Let's get Dan Rather's opinion!

    It's no secret the Trump Foundation has helped fund Project Veritas. According to Newsweek on 11/27/2017, "About a month before Trump announced his candidacy for president, his charity, the Trump Foundation, gave $10,000 to Project Veritas."

    For a good read, check out what James O'Keefe did to CNN's Abbie Boudreau, then ask yourself why Trump supports O'Keefe's organization. It's all about blurring the lines between truth and the alternative reality Trump and his supporters prefer to live in.

    If Kathleen Parker believes what she says about journalists being so very interested in the truth, I have to wonder if she uses logic and observation, or if she is just a 'believer in the inherent good' of reporters? The MSM have been distorting and misrepresenting the facts and truth about the facts for at least decades. It has only become worse in the past decade so that hardly any critical-thinking citizen can believe anything they say or write. I personally haven't uncritically accepted a news story since the 'Dewey defeats Truman' headline. It has become worse now by quantum amounts - without any remorse shown for incorrect or wildly biased writing and reporting. For shame. . .
