Former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill had to wait awhile to make his NFL debut in Green Bay’s 24-9 preseason win over Philadelphia on Thursday night.

He made it worth the wait.

Hill guided a late touchdown drive to end the scoring, hitting Michael Clark for a 7-yard touchdown pass on a back shoulder throw with nine seconds remaining. That capped an eight-play, 82-yard drive that took 2:55 off the clock and harkened back to his days as a Cougar.

Hill completed 4-of-5 passes for 69 yards on the drive, including a 46-yard pass to DeAngelo Yancey that set the Packers up at the Eagles’ 9-yard line. The dual-threat quarterback who went undrafted added two rushes for 14 yards, including a 12-yard scramble on second-and-8 that helped jump-start the drive.

That more than made up for a rough start for Hill, who was first inserted into the game with 6:06 remaining. After the Packers lost 5 yards on a rush, Hill was sacked for minus-8 yards and fumbled the ball, though Green Bay recovered.

After an interception by former Utah State safety Marwin Evans, though, Hill and the Packers got the ball back with enough time for the final touchdown drive.
