Former Provo High and BYU star Kyle Collinsworth has been getting more and more playing time with the Dallas Mavericks, most recently amassing 31 minutes on Sunday against the Houston Rockets.

Not only did Collinsworth play a bunch against the Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend, but he was a key part of two notable plays involving a pair of the NBA's biggest stars and also had a nice dunk of his own.

The first play happened midway through the second quarter against the Lakers as Collinsworth assisted a rare Dirk Nowitzki dunk, with the 39-year old German commenting afterward that, "When Kyle made that drive and dished it to me, I said, 'Now or never.'"

In the third quarter against Houston, Collinsworth got defensive, coming up with an impressive block on Rockets guard James Harden.

Individually, Collinsworth had a nice putback dunk against the Rockets after Dennis Smith Jr. missed a layup.

For the game, Collinsworth did his typical stat sheet stuffing, scoring six points to go along with eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal in a 104-97 loss.

NBA stars endorse Donovan Mitchell for Rookie of the Year

As Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell continues to impress, more and more of the NBA's stars are getting behind his candidacy for Rookie of the Year.

After the Jazz beat the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, Blazers guard and former Weber State star Damian Lillard said, "I think he should be Rookie of the Year for sure." (Lillard's full comments about Mitchell start at about the 2:05 mark of the video below. He praises the Jazz in general starting at about the 1:30 mark.)

Then on Monday in an Instagram post by the account House of Highlights of Mitchell's postgame interview with Kristen Kenney from earlier in the evening, New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins and Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan both commented, saying Mitchell should win top rookie honors.
