Downtown residents and visitors may have been surprised by the whoop-whoop of military helicopters maneuvering above Salt Lake's central business district Sunday, but the activity was just a training exercise. The Utah National Guard reported that two UH-60 Black Hawks and a UH-72 Lakota helicopter were making multiple landings and takeoffs from the helipads atop the 24-story Wells Fargo Center at 299 S. Main on Sunday afternoon. The training exercise was a warmup for the upcoming, large-scale exercise called Desert Ice scheduled for April 10.
