Gosh, you know a fan is really struggling when he discusses a football game amid
the basketball season and his teams loss. Let's see if we can help, your
team lost to BYU in Basketball, it's a basketball article, stay with us
Spokane Ute:Thanks for your civility!With Respect,Uncle Leo
It remains to be seen how they will do in conference play - especially against
Gonzaga and St. Marys. On the other hand, given their improved team cohesiveness
and better defense, I don't expect as many inexplicable losses against the
bottom half of the WCC as we have seen in the past.
Night and day difference between this team and last year's. Childs has
gotten better, for sure, and Elijah Bryant is a difference maker, I also feel
that the point play of Hardnett has bonded the team together, even though he is
not a scorer. Even Worthington looks much better than before. How
much of the improvement comes from the absence of Nick Emery is hard to say. TJ
Haws, his high school teammate, is playing much better this season, and some of
that may coaching improvement and a year more maturity. Could that have helped
Emery? I guess we won't know for a couple of years, if ever.
Coach Rose mentioned in previous games that the Cougars tend to relax when the
get a lead, and this may yet, probably will, cost them a game or two if they
don't correct it. That said, I'm so happy they won again! Will this
team play above expectations and add a page to the chapter on great
accomplishments of BYU BB teams? Hope so!
I watched bits and pieces of the game; it was never in doubt. This BYU team
looks much more unselfish then the last couple teams. They are making that extra
pass or two which leads to open shots. I think they will improve on last years
record. They looked pretty dang good to me; gotta give credit where credit is
Illinois State is the defending champion of the always good MVC. That conference
is usually seen as better than any out West. That was a dominant win over a
really talented team. People who mock that team know nothing about this sport.
BYU has already defeated many teams that finished top of their conference last
year. BYU is shaping up to be far better than expected. They'll
likely sweep all teams from Utah this year.
Title could have been: "Illinois State Cold in First Half, Then Suddenly
Came Alive!"It was their shooting that went from dismal to
great. BYU just kept putting the points in the bucket all game. They had a guy
who hit 4 consecutive 3-pointers late to give them a sprint. All in all, it made
the game interesting. Their coach is credited for being animated and lively from
the sidelines!Go BYU Cougars! Especially the Women's Volleyball
Team in the Sweet Sixteen this weekend. You can do it! Great team!
Despite the expected jealous sniping from the haters, this was a blowout against
a decent team - ranked higher in Sagarin than Utah State and several PAC 12
teams.BYU raced out to a 28-Point lead, then relaxed a little in the
2nd half to allow the Redbirds to make the final score seem a little more
respectable with a flurry of late 3’s.
Aggie-The were up by 20-25 points the whole game except for the last
@AggieAndee:I watched the game also. Don't know what game you watched
but BYU clearly dominated the Redbirds. Give up a little bit in the second half,
but lets be honest.....when you have a 28 point lead sometimes you lose focus.
And...football has nothing to do with this article. Oh, how did those Aggies do
against the Cougars. Thought so.
KimmyP#120 Illinois St is ranked higher in Sagarin than Utah St,
Oregon St, Washington St, and California, and the Redbirds beat South Carolina.
I watched the game and it was hardly a blowout. BYU didn't look impressive
and only won by 12 points against a little unknown school.A blowout
is what USU did to BYU in football this year.
Illinois State 😂
