Hello moresureword - Interesting you should raise that. In the largest and
longest longitudinal university study of its kind, Mormons were the longest
living and healthiest cohort overall and by far. We don't prove the
scriptures by statistics, but my grandparents lived over 40% longer lives than
their US peers and were very healthy all through it. It's not difficult to
Mo...I can't help but ask. Do all of the members of your preferred flavor
of Christianity practice their faith perfectly? In answer to your
question, yes, those who do strive to live the Word of Wisdom as perfectly as
they can (not just avoiding coffee, alcohol and tobacco), actually living all of
it, do fare far better than most people when it comes to their health. but
surprisingly enough, God does not remove the challenges from their lives, they
still catch colds, get cancer, and grow old and die.
Good luck! All the Mo's worldwide will be cheering for you!
“Just following the Word of Wisdom makes it easier to set standards for
myself with dieting and following a nutrition plan,” she said.
“I’m just used to that.”What does it truly mean to
"follow the Word of Wisdom"? A BYU study showed that Utah members of
the LDS Church are 34% more likely to be overweight than members of other
religions. Do they eat meat "sparingly" and "only in
times of winter, or of cold, or famine"? Do they eat too many grains,
including "wheat for man"? Do they truly have "health in their
navel and marrow to their bones"? Do they truly "run and not be weary,
and ... walk and not faint"? Will "the destroying angel shall pass by
them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them"?
Good luck!! All Utah is cheering for you!!
Good luck to Jerica!! Knowing their parents since before they were married,
neither seemed the super athletic type. It is amazing to me that they have an
Olympian as a child!!! Anything is possible!!!
